Forms of Payment

StumbleUpon accepts most major credit cards and PayPal. PayPal allows you to pay with a credit card, bank account or existing PayPal balance. Go to our Add Funds page to add more funds to your account (https://www.stumbleupon.com/pd/payment/).

 

Automatic Funding

With automatic funding, you never have to worry if your campaigns have enough funds to run. When at the payment page, make sure to check the box that saves your payment information, which will then allow you to set up automatic funding (a free feature). You can edit your automatic funding details here. With Automatic Funding enabled, your card will be charged an amount you designate when you run out of funds.

 

When Traffic Starts

Approved credit card payments will be reflected in your account immediately. PayPal payments can take up to five business days. Once funds have been added, traffic will start immediately.

 

CVV Number

Most credit cards have the three-digit CVV on the back signature panel, after the account number. The American Express four-digit CVV is located on the front, above the account number.

 

Message: This transaction cannot be processed

If your credit card payment attempt is receiving an error message, please try using PayPal as an alternative payment method. If your international credit card is receiving this error message, please do not make further payment attempts as they will not be processed. Please contact us for assistance.

 

Negative Account Balance

You may see a negative balance. This is because StumbleUpon sends the initial visitor to your campaign, however you will not be charged.

 

Missing Funds

There is a known PayPal issue affecting card holders from countries that do not support AVS (Address Verification System). In these countries, after the bank authorizes the charge and puts a “hold” on the funds, PayPal erroneously rejects the transaction. The funds are on “hold” by your bank, not StumbleUpon, and are usually released within a week. Please check with your bank on the status of your funds.

 

Refunds

 

Refund Request

You can apply for a refund here. NOTE: It is your responsibility to pause active campaigns so no further funds are depleted. Once the request has been received, it can take up to 1-2 weeks for processing. During this time you may be contacted to confirm account details and provide additional transaction information.

 

PayPal FAQ

 

PayPal is a system that lets anyone with an email address have the ability to securely send and receive online payments using their credit card or bank account. Advertisers can use PayPal to quickly and easily pay for ad campaigns.

 

If you have a PayPal question, please contact PayPal Customer Support.

 

Missing Funds

If you have a delayed funds question, please first contact PayPal Customer Support.

 

Delays may be caused by the following:

 

  • E-checks as a form of payment may cause a delay
  • Credit or debit card account is not in good standing
  • Credit or debit card account information is incorrect
  • The billing address your bank has does not match what you have entered
  • Transaction was initiated over the weekend or public holiday

 

If you are unable to resolve your issue through PayPal, and your funds are not reflected after the 5 business days, please contact us with the following:

 

 

  • PayPal transaction receipt
  • StumbleUpon Ads account login
  • PayPal account email

 

Transaction History

Create a PayPal account to view your transaction history. Register the credit card used for past payments to see your transaction history for that card. If you have any questions about opening a PayPal account, please contact PayPal directly.

 

Transaction Limit

The maximum dollar amount allowed for any single transaction is $10,000.00 USD for any PayPal member. The current limit for unregistered PayPal users is an initial $2,000, which resets every 4 months. This limit applies to U.S. users and varies for other currencies and countries.
