How do I install the add-on?
You can download the StumbleBar for Firefox from the official Mozilla Add-ons page.
How do I uninstall the add-on?
On your Firefox browser, go to Tools > Add-ons > click on StumbleUpon and then click Remove. The uninstall process will present you with the option to uninstall all of the StumbleUpon configuration files.
How do I upgrade the add-on?
To see if you have the latest version of the StumbleUpon Add-on for Firefox, on your toolbar select Tools > About StumbleUpon > Toolbar Version.
If you don’t have the most recent version, download it from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stumbleupon/
In Firefox, restarting the browser will bring a dialog box that will tell you if any of your add-ons have updates ready to install.
How do I update my Interests to match those that I’ve picked on the site?
There are two ways you can update your Interests so they match those you have chosen on the StumbleUpon site:
- Remove or add an Interests by clicking All and then selecting Update Topics to manage your Interests
- Sign out and sign back in to the StumbleBar by clicking Tools and then Sign-out. To sign back in click the Start stumbling…link in the top left of your toolbar.

Why is my Firefox Add-on not showing?
If the add-on is not showing on your browser, first check View >Toolbars to see if it is checked to display.
From the browser menu, select View > Toolbars > StumbleUpon, or press CTRL + F11
If the StumbleBar is NOT in the View> Toolbar list, you may need to reinstall it: : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stumbleupon/
If the add-on IS in the list, and still does not display when checked, it is likely that the cause is a conflict with another browser, add-on, or script – in which case, we’d recommend that you:
- Disable all other programs and open web pages but StumbleUpon to be sure there is not a conflict, then restart your browser.
- Check your Internet connection to be sure you are running at optimal speed.

Do I have to install a Add-on to use StumbleUpon?
StumbleUpon offers a StumbleBar that doesn’t require a download.
With the StumbleBar, you can Stumble and Like or Dislike sites in different categories. If you are a StumbleUpon member, web pages that you Stumble using both the StumbleBar and Firefox Add-on will be saved with your other account information.
I am getting a 203 Error.
The 203 Error is a known issue that many Firefox users get when they try to install extensions on their browser. This error is not related to StumbleUpon.

Why are my previous Likes not showing up as a green thumbs up in the StumbleBar?
The StumbleBar for Firefox has a local cache that stores information such as Likes for a limited amount of time. This means if you return immediately to page after you have Liked it you will see the thumbs up icon green, indicating you have already Liked this page. If you return to this same page later on, the thumbs up will likely no longer be green. This does not mean it has been removed from your Likes, and accidentally Liking a page twice will have no effect on that Like and will not create a duplicate Like.
